Hyaluronic Acid - Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant that is naturally occurring component of our skin. When applied topically, it binds moisture to the skin, keeping it healthy and plump. It softens skin and restores elasticity which can help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Studies have shown that the application of topical hyaluronic acid can increase moisture, reduce trans epidermal water loss, speed up wound healing, reduce inflammation, and decrease the formation of age spots.
Allantoin - Allantoin is a natural compound concentrated in comfrey root that promotes wound healing, speeds up cell re-generation and has skin softening effects. MIDLIFE uses a nature identical, synthesized form of allantoin, as the demand for this highly effective compound has taxed the natural resource. Allantoin is one of only three ingredients currently approved by the FDA as a barrier ingredient that provides an occlusive (protective) layer on the skin. (Another, Cocoa Butter is also present in KISSER) The FDA has approved allantoin for preventing and protecting skin and lips against chapping, chafing, cracking and wind burn as well as for relieving dryness and softening cold sores and fever blisters. Cocoa Butter - Cocoa butter is the edible vegetable fat of the cacao bean, Theobroma Cacao (meaning food of the gods). Cocoa butter is extracted from cacao beans, which are around 50% butter, and during processing, the solids and butter are separated. Babassu Oil - Babassu oil is a beautifully rich oil similar in chemical make-up to coconut oil, but with a lighter, silkier feel. In skincare it is considered beneficial for the care of dry, cracked and flaky skin in part due to its high concentrations of Lauric Acid which is reported to have anti-microbial activity.
